Position Summary
We are seeking a consulting sales engineer with technical expertise to work with MEP firms and building owners. You will be responsible for maintaining and growing product specification on commercial construction projects throughout New England. Knowledge of HVAC products, systems, and specification process is required. You will be responsible for an extensive accounts list of large and small engineering firms with a wide range of project types. You will also assist our sales team in reviewing bids and confirming compliance with project plans and specifications. Utilize engineering knowledge to effectively solve customers’ complex design, costs, and schedules.
Job Duties:
- Consult mechanical engineers on application of our products in project designs.
- Provide timely equipment selections, technical information, and layout recommendations.
- Promote features and benefits of products. Provide technical and educational presentations to building owners, architects, and design engineers. Effectively communicate seeking basis of design.
- Provide exceptional customer service. Establish, build, and maintain strong long term customer relationships.
- Develop action plan for targeting new accounts and growing sales within existing accounts.
- Work closely with manufacturer’s engineering and customer service individuals to provide our customers with excellent support.
- Analyze market trends and competitive positioning.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in industry professional societies.
- Providing technical expertise and product selection assistance to our sales team
- Work with our manufacturers to identify areas of growth for product lines
- Actively participate in local ASHRAE chapter
- Travel to customer offices and jobsites within territory. Attend seminars at manufacturer’s training facilities.
- Demonstrates proper and ethical judgment and decision-making skills
Qualifications:
- 4 years of Commercial HVAC Engineering and/or HVAC Sales Experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering science
- Local knowledge of the mechanical engineering community.
- Familiarity with the application of air-side HVAC products.
- Strong technical understanding of HVAC systems.
- Strong oral, written, and communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team environment
- PC literacy and proficiency in all Microsoft Office products
