We are seeking a skilled Building Automation Technician to join our team. As a Building Automation Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining, installing, and troubleshooting automated systems that control heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), lighting, security, and other building systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, with experience in building automation systems (BAS), and a passion for improving building efficiency and occupant comfort.
Key Responsibilities:
- System Installation & Commissioning:
- Install, configure, and commission building automation systems (BAS) for new and retrofit projects, ensuring systems meet performance and operational requirements.
- Set up control panels, sensors, controllers, and other BAS equipment.
- System Troubleshooting & Repairs:
- Diagnose and repair faults in control systems, HVAC systems, lighting, and other automated building systems.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and software to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
- Preventive Maintenance:
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on BAS equipment to ensure optimal system performance.
- Test, calibrate, and validate sensors, control devices, and system functionality.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Complete detailed reports for all service activities, including system diagnostics, maintenance procedures, and repairs performed.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of work orders, customer communication, and parts inventory.
- Customer Interaction:
- Provide technical support and training to building occupants, facility managers, and clients on system operations, troubleshooting, and energy-saving best practices.
- Act as a point of contact for customers, addressing questions and concerns in a professional manner.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety standards and company policies when performing work on electrical systems, HVAC units, and other building systems.
- Stay current on industry codes, regulations, and trends in building automation.
Required Qualifications:
- Technical Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, control loops, sensors, and controllers.
- Knowledge of BAS protocols (e.g., BACnet, Modbus) and how they integrate with other building systems.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Communication:
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical personnel.
- Customer service-oriented with the ability to build strong relationships with clients.
