CONTROLS SYSTEM TECHNICIAN/PROGRAMMER/DESIGN ENGINEER
Job Mission: To competently commission, diagnose, and repair HVAC / DDC control systems in new and existing environments. By reading and interpreting HVAC control drawings and other engineering documents, the technician will be able to successfully deliver optimal operating sequences for HVAC equipment that will increase building comfort while reducing operating costs.
OUTCOMES. In this role, you will Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical and control problems. With a strong emphasis on customer service.
• Work with limited supervision.
• Programming and/or troubleshooting various brands of HVAC controls products
• Program and load system-level controller software. Performs commissioning and system diagnostics from system-level controllers to end devices (i.e. sensors, actuators, etc) and completes all required commissioning documentation
• Create and update front-end graphical user interfaces (GUI)
• Loading of system-level controller software; creation/updating of front-end graphical user interfaces (GUI)
• Integration with 3rd party networks / software / systems
• Successfully build trust / relationship as liaison / first point of contact with client
• Earn positive feedback from supervisors, co-workers, and clients for customer service & attitude.
• Work safely to eliminate personal accidents and damage to other property / systems.
• High proficiency in electrical and HVAC theory
• Develop KPI’s or tracking metrics for job performance
SKILLS / COMPETENCIES
• Minimum of Five (5) years of related experience.
• High school diploma / vocational / AA DEGREE
• Strong mechanical aptitude (skill testing)
• Experience and knowledge of HVAC systems in commercial/industrial applications
• Experience with BAS communication protocols; BACnet MSTP, BACnet IP, N2, P1, Modbus, LON, Tridium Ax/N4 etc. Knowledge of Distech and Niagara is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of IT networks
• Basic physical fitness for job description
• Knowledgeable on electrical codes for wiring installations; skills in installation
• Proficient in the use of basic hand and power tools
• Read blueprints / engineering drawings
• Communication skills in English (written & verbal)
• Valid driver license

COMPENSATION RANGE: $35 – $45 an hour
