BAS Sr. Programmer/Engineer – Dallas Texas

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Handle controls projects “Cradle to grave”. Bidding, planning, communication, installation, programming, commissioning, repair, client handover.
  • Respond to calls for service.
  • Able to independently solve the majority of controls issues.
  • Able to independently diagnose simple HVAC issues.  For instance, diagnose and fix a FPB heater.
  • Ensure the timely completion of work. Especially bid work
  • Provide in field support to ensure work is being done to code and up to company standards, provide QC inspections and in the field
  • Ensure that Jr technicians are held accountable to all company standards.
  • Provide support, feedback and training while in the field.
  • Find repairs & opportunities for larger bid work.  Oversee subcontractors.
  • When bidding, put in the time to identify and anticipate problems.  Minimize change orders.
  • When integrating with legacy or controls that we don’t normally support, know when to call in or plan for outside expertise
  • Outsource labor intensive, low skill or highly repetitive tasks.

  • Strong understanding of commercial HVAC unit’s capabilities. For instance, all of an Intellipak’s controls, modules and features.
  • Strong understanding of Controls.
  • Able to read wiring diagrams and mechanical plans.
  • Problem solving skills.  Willingness to research a topic and find a solution.
  • Ability to develop creative solutions.
  • Be able to give suggestions to other the techs while on the job
  • Accurate budget & schedule estimating.
  • 24/7 responsiveness.

  • Quick turnaround time on bids.
  • Selling and negotiating.
  • Effective sales qualification:
    • Knowing which jobs to pursue and which jobs not to pursue
    • Understanding our selling position – what are our chances of winning and what do we need to do to better position ourselves to win
    • Prospecting (filling the funnel with new opportunities) – driving new business and expanding existing business
    • Delegating work to the appropriate partie
    • Comfortable with Excel, Outlook, Word.
