Building Automation & DDC Controls Sales
Candidate Profile:
We desire a candidate who can provide exceptional customer service by formulating controls solutions, primarily for HVAC applications. The ideal candidate has experience with multi-step sales processes and face-to-face customer interactions. Typical opportunities involve selling to technical customers and financial decision-makers. A successful sales person has the ability to uncover problems and communicate well-organized and valuable solutions. HVAC experience is necessary. “Stay until the job is done” work ethic is essential. Group presentation skills are important.
Job Duties:
• This is a Technical Sales position of turn-key installations for building energy reduction, sustainability, card access, and comfort control products and services.
• Products are primarily programmable controls for HVAC, Card Access & Lighting controls and Web-based operator interfaces.
• Target customers are in commercial, institutional, and industrial buildings in the metropolitan Chicago area.
• Your time will be split between helping existing customers expand their systems and developing new customers through networking and referrals.
• Solutions are developed direct with building operators and managers or with their consultants.
• Sales paths comprise design/build, owner-direct, service selling, and some bidding and contractor sales.
• Support operations throughout the implementation of projects and look after customer satisfaction.
Skills:
• Familiarity with communication protocols, such as BACnet, and basic IT communication
• Understanding of DDC functionality and industry accepted sequences of operations
• HVAC applications experience
• Understanding of web-based computer applications and networking
Education:
• Minimum required Junior College Associates degree.
• Prefer 4-year College degree majoring in engineering, construction, or business.
Experience:
• Prefer candidates with prior building automation controls sales, engineering, or operations experience.
• Will consider entry level sales candidates with appropriate HVAC industry and/or automation controls technical education and/or experience.
