Job Title: Building Automation Service Technician
Job Summary:
The BAS Service Technician will be responsible for servicing and maintaining building automation systems, with a particular focus on legacy systems. You will work with a variety of systems, including Trane, Carrier, Tridium, and others. This role includes troubleshooting, retrofitting existing systems, installing new equipment, and ensuring systems run efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of building automation systems and a proven track record in troubleshooting and system installations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide service and maintenance for legacy building automation systems, ensuring systems are operating efficiently.
- Retrofit and upgrade legacy systems to improve functionality and performance.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues with BAS equipment, including HVAC control systems.
- Install new BAS equipment and integrate it into existing systems.
- Work with various BAS systems and components, including Trane, Carrier, Tridium, and open systems such as Carrier Ivue.
- Collaborate with other technicians, service teams, and clients to ensure timely project completion and client satisfaction.
- Conduct system audits and performance checks, recommending improvements and upgrades as necessary.
- Maintain accurate service records, documenting all work performed and any issues encountered.
- Adhere to company safety protocols and industry best practices while on job sites.
Key Candidate Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of hands-on experience working with building automation systems (BAS), including systems such as Trane, Carrier, Tridium, and open systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills to resolve complex technical issues.
- Experience with legacy system retrofits, service, and maintenance.
- Ability to install and configure BAS equipment, including Carrier Ivue and other related systems.
- Previous experience with HVAC systems and controls is a significant advantage.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with customers, team members, and management.
- Willingness to adapt and learn new technologies as BAS systems evolve.
- Open to discussing compensation (hourly or salary) based on experience, skillset, and the scope of work.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Additional Qualifications (Preferred):
- Previous installation experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in BAS and HVAC systems.
- Certification or formal training in building automation systems or related fields is a plus.
- Comfortable with both retrofitting legacy systems and installing new systems as part of an upgrade.
