Job Title: Building Automation Engineering Manager

We are currently looking for an experienced BAS Engineering Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring our projects are designed, documented and implemented to meet the satisfaction of our customers.

Position Description: The Engineering Manager is a member of the company leadership team. The Engineering Manager is directly responsible for leading the engineering team in their design, programming, system integration and user interface development for our projects. Leads and directs the engineering team to plan, execute, and complete their assigned engineering tasks. Assigns and coordinates the engineering team resources as required to ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget and meet customer expectations. Ensures work performed complies with project plans, specifications, and scope of work requirements.

Position Responsibilities:
• Faithfully manage the engineering resources to support the team in achieving planned revenue and gross margin objectives.
• Lead, manage and hold engineering team members accountable for achieving agreed upon commitments.
• Coordinate engineering team resources necessary to complete the engineering tasks and ensure they are utilized for the greatest impact.
• Resolve issues effectively. Must be an effective communicator. Identify and solve problems in a practical, effective and professional manner.
• Maintain existing standards and develop new standards as necessary.
• Develop, implement, and maintain processes and procedures for an efficient and quality engineering workflow process.
• Demonstrate effective management and leadership skills.
• Oversee and ensure overall quality of engineering deliverables.
• Maintain required personnel to meet manpower requirements. Including interview, hire, evaluate, train and when necessary, terminate engineering team members.
• Manage team backlog and assign resources as required.
• Effectively collaborate with other members of the leadership team.
• Contribute to company strategy, planning, reporting, and forecasting.
• Other duties as may be assigned

Desired Skills and Experience:

Required
• Relevant technical or engineering design experience
• Minimum of technical Associates Degree with two years of experience or four years of equivalent related experience in the HVAC industry.
• Relevant experience leading or managing a team
• Must have strong leadership skills
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to work well with others
• Knowledge and understanding of HVAC sequences of operation

Preferred
• Strong personal computer skills
• Knowledge, understanding of, and experience with building automation and control systems
• Experience in system design and/or programming
• Experienced and certified in Niagara
• Experience with Distech Controls and EC-gfx programming
