BAS Programmer – Baltimore Maryland

Description:
The Senior DDC Programmer/ Engineer will possess complete technical competence on DDC systems with the ability to resolve independently or guide others through very complex problem resolution. Team leadership will be required to direct and assist installers and other DDC technicians. Customer interaction is in-depth and proactive to include a complete understanding of current systems and the foresight to recommend and plan for enhancements. Team with Business Development and Service to expand new construction and service contracts.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
• Team with Engineering to design and develop project Control Drawings
• Program controllers and devices for Building Automation System projects
• Ensure proper operation of all Building Control Sequences
• Test inputs and outputs to ensure proper operation and calibration
• Ensure all specified alarms are configured and tested
• Ensure all history and archives are configured and tested
• Develop site graphics
• Provide training to end users
• Provide training and mentor DDC technicians
• Ensure continuous and proper operation of Building Automation System Programs
• Integrate and Program controls to 3rd Party building systems
• Read, write, and modify programming software for multiple controls manufacturers
• Interact with Mechanical Engineers, Contractors, Commissioning Agents, and Sub-Contractors to field-verify problem areas and initiate corrections
• Work independently and with others to solve day-to-day DDC/ BAS related problems
• Read and interpret Mechanical, Control Drawings, and Sequences Of Operation for System Design, programming and commissioning.
• Complete and provide Engineering Dept. with accurate As-Built drawings
• Set up and troubleshoot new site workstations, network equipment, and networks
• On-site job work with potential remote site support from office

REQUIREMENTS: Associate degree in electronics, mechanical systems, computer technology, air conditioning or similar field. Degree may be offset by 5 or more year’s experience. Five to seven years of increasingly responsible experience from servicing DDC and HVAC systems to independent programming of DDC systems. BACnet system design to include BACnet IP/Ethernet and MS/TP networks. Ability to act independently and to coordinate the work of others on a job site. Effective interpersonal skills to represent the company to customers and other outside contacts in a professional and industry leading manner. Ability to explain technical information to non-technical people. Server, Workstation, laptop, Microsoft Office, and IP LAN/WAN experience required. Ability to program a complete DDC system air side systems and water side systems.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCIES:
• Experience or certification in one or more of the following systems:
 o Schneider – Continuum/EcoStruxure, Delta ORCAview/enteliWEB, Niagara AX/N4, Alerton Compass

Willingness to travel but not required.
At least 5 years with same employer is a plus
