BAS Technician/Programmer – Boston Massachusetts

Job Title:  Senior Control Systems Technician

 

Department:  Systems/Construction

A.  Purpose:
 

  • Responsible for coordinating the field installation of assigned ATC, BMS, BAS, and HVAC Control System projects as designed and turned over from the Project Manager.

B.  Specific responsibilities:
 

  • Must have extensive knowledge of ATC, BMS, BAS, and HVAC Control Systems.
  • Attend kickoff/ turnover meeting with Project Manager as necessary on assigned projects.  Expectation is for the individual to attain a full working knowledge of the assigned project
  • Review and critique Engineered control drawings prior to start of installation on assigned projects.
  • Full comprehension of job scope and COMPANY responsibilities.
  • Perform job walkthrough review on assigned projects with Sub-contractor’s Foreman and COMPANY Project Manager.
  • Demonstrate a solid working knowledge of simple to complex control systems and associated devices.
  • Programming of all controllers per specified sequences of operation.
  • Oversee and ensure electrical installation of control system components meets COMPANY standards and the expectations of the Project Manager.
  • Perform and document all commissioning and validation procedures performed pertaining to the installation of the COMPANY scope of work.
  • Communicate daily or as required with the Project Manager assigned to the specific project.
  • Communicate and coordinate daily or as required with Mechanical and Electrical Foremen on assigned projects.
  • Continually update and maintain project’s master field set of documentation for as-built/record purposes.  This includes but is not limited to electrical power circuit I.D.’s, communication/network wiring, field panel locations, I.P. addresses, etc…
  • Notifies Project Manager of any field coordination that implies scope change or potential change orders to base scope of work.
  • Responsible for efficiently managing the Technician labor hours on assigned projects.
  • Forecast to and request from the Project Manager any additional labor resources required in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate graphics package deliverables with Project Manager and COMPANYS graphic’s design group. 
  • Provide training sessions per specification for all assigned projects.  Ensure appropriate COMPANY personnel are involved in the training program.  Request all necessary training information from Project Manager as needed for specific projects, i.e. operator’s manuals, engineering guides, programmer’s manuals.

  • Reports to Project Manager.
  • Teams are made up of 1 PM and 4-8 Technicians

 

Job Requirements

 

A.  Education and Training

 

  • Candidate should have a 2 year technical degree or equivalent field experience.

 

  1. Experience

 

  • 4-6  years experience in a Lead Technical role

 

  1. Managerial experience

 

  • None required
