BAS Technician – Denver Colorado

Job Summary
We are a leading provider of innovative Building Automation Solutions (BAS) that maximize energy efficiency and sustainable building operations. Our solutions control and monitor building functions such as heating, air conditioning and lighting in the education, commercial office, health care, government, and data center markets. The BAS Controls  Technician is responsible for troubleshooting automation control systems pertaining to air distribution equipment, air handlers, valves, variable speed equipment, exhaust systems, lighting, chill water, and boiler systems.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ability to understand contract documents
  • Understanding of HVAC systems and how to control them
  • Graphic changes and send back in JSON
  • Coordinating work with COMPANY, construction chain and sub on multiple jobs and represent COMPANY at jobsite meetings
  • Ability to modify programs, with consultation/coordination with Engineering
  • Accountability for multiple projects at a time
  • Verify systems as a whole is functioning as designed including graphics
  • Research OEM, troubleshoot, understand read/rights, and configure 3rd party interfaces
  • Work with commissioning/TAB
  • Verify Checkout book for completion and accuracy. Accountable for Checkout books location and turn in.
  • Responsible for assuring project quality
  • Responsible for start-up and troubleshooting automation control systems pertaining to air distribution equipment, air handlers, valves, variable speed equipment, exhaust systems, lighting, chill water, and boiler systems.
  • Many projects include replacement, renovation, or retrofit of building HVAC systems.

  • Material Management/Chain of Custody
  • Point to Point including end device set-up on boxes and fan coils
  • Controller hardware setup, wired correctly, addressed correctly
  • MSET MPC and Cradle Point Set-up
  • Checkout of terminal units, fan coils, and complete sheets
  • Sequence checks on boxes and fan coils
  • Basic troubleshooting of terminal units and fan coils
  • Maintain checkout books checkout sheets and redline submittals
  • Checkout AHU

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ Years’ experience in HVAC and BACnet integration as it relates to building automation control system
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) Required, College Degree Preferred
  • Technical aptitude
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Knowledge in one or more of the following is a plus:
    • HVAC controls concepts
    • HVAC equipment
    • Electrical
    • Controls installation
    • Computer networking
  • Experienced with using Microsoft Office Applications
    • Excel
    • Word
    • Outlook
    • Visio
